Postmodernism Lecture 2: Mulholland Drive

Before i talk about how Mulholland Drive and how its a postmodern film. I just want to say, What The Hell!! I was interested in the film paying attention and then out of no where it all jumbled up and i was completely lost. I don't know if i missed something but i thought i was paying close attention...

Im not going to try and pick out the key aspects of the film, because i will probably fail miserably, the fact that none of the scenes are placed in non-linear fashion is another factor in why the film is so mind-boggling. All of the twists and turns, where you may think you understand what's going on, Lynch just throws more information at the audience making it impossible to work out what's going on.

Very similar to films such 'Inception' where even at the end you still don't know what has happened. Yet you still enjoyed it, because unlike other films where you don't have to use any of your brain to work out what's going on. Mulholland Drive makes you want to know what's going on around the next corner. I enjoyed watching this film, even though i didn't fully understand what was going on.
